Remove/install roof paneling - AR65.10-P-5702MCC

REMOVING Remove     
1 Lower side window in driver door NOTES
The side window in the driver door must be open during the curing time of the adhesive material.
This prevents the roof paneling (1) from being pressed outwards by the air pressure when the doors are closed.		  
2 Remove front roof frame paneling When reusing roof paneling (1).

3 Remove rear roof frame trim When reusing roof paneling (1). AR68.30-P-4470MCC
4 Remove side roof frame paneling When reusing roof paneling (1).

5 Remove roller sun blind MODEL 451.3
with CODE E22 (Glass roof (FFO))
without CODE E23 (Full roof (FFO))

    Remove/install roller sun blind on panoramic sunroof

    Remove/install roller sun blind on panoramic sunroof AR77.21-P-0205MCC
6 Detach left windowbag and right windowbag and lay down in passenger compartment MODEL 451.3
with CODE I52 (Head airbag)
IMPORTANT Remove left windowbag and right windowbag from lug in front area of A-pillar.

    Removing, installing windowbag AR91.60-P-0693MCU
DANGER Risk of injury.  Injury may result if the cutting wire tears or heats up while using it to cut out components that are glued into place. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. AS65.00-Z-0001-01A
7 Cut out roof paneling (1) with cutting wire IMPORTANT Aid of helper is required to cut out and remove roof paneling (1). AR65.10-P-5702-01MCC
INSPECT Check     
8 Check bonding area on body flange for paint chipping IMPORTANT Damage from removing roof paneling (1) can be repaired with approved materials.  
9 Remove remaining adhesive in area of paint chipping On paint chips up to approx. 2 cm.  
10.1 Repair paint chipping on body flange with approved materials On paint chips up to approx. 2 cm.
IMPORTANT Do not apply basic or clear varnish in boding area.		  
10.2 Renew paintwork structure on body flange On paint chips larger than approx. 2 cm. AR98.00-P-0905MCC
INSTALLING Install     
11 Prepare body flange for installation NOTES
The bonding area must be absolutely free of dust and grease.
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.		 AR65.10-P-5702-04MCC
    TS adhesive (with isopropanol cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1141-02A 
    TS adhesive (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
12 Align roof paneling (1) in body opening IMPORTANT Helper required. AR65.10-P-5702-06MCC
13 Prepare roof paneling (1) for installation MODEL 451.3
with CODE E22 (Glass roof (FFO))
without CODE E23 (Full roof (FFO))		 AR65.10-P-5702-02MCC

without CODE E22 (Glass roof (FFO))
NOTES
The gluing area on the roof paneling (1) must be absolutely free of dust and grease.
Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.		 AR65.10-P-5702-02MCD

    TS adhesive (with heptane cleaner) *BR00.45-Z-1142-02A 
14 Apply adhesive material NOTES
Install roof paneling (1) within 2 minutes after applying adhesive material to body flange. Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.
IMPORTANT If the paintwork structure on the body flange is renewed, apply adhesive material on body flange for corrosion protection reasons.
IMPORTANT Durability is achieved after approx. 2 h measured from the time the roof paneling (1) is installed. The nominal strength is achieved only after approx. 8 h.		 AR65.10-P-5702-05MCC

15 Install roof paneling (1) IMPORTANT Helper required. Fix in place roof paneling (1) with installation template and sandbags. AR65.10-P-5702-03MCC
16 Install left windowbag and right windowbag MODEL 451.3
with CODE I52 (Head airbag)

20 Install roller sun blind MODEL 451.3
