Removing wire harness for power seats

→ Switch off ignition and remove remote control before disconnecting or removing electrical load.

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

• Always wear approved work clothes and shoes when carrying out assembly work  .
• Do not remove new parts from ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging until shortly before installation  .
• Do not touch electric pins and plug contacts  .

1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  for seat adjustment motor. → 728719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SEAT ADJUSTMENT MOTOR
2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -2-  for seat heating. → 741019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING PADDING FOR FRONT SEAT
3. Unclip bracket for electric plug connection for seat heating -2-  from the seat frame.
4. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -3-  for seat-belt buckle. → 692419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BELT LOCK
5. Unclip bracket for electric plug connection for seat-belt buckle -3-  from the seat frame.
6. Unclip footwell light -1-  from the seat frame using a screwdriver -A-  .

7. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -4-  for footwell lighting.
8. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -5-  for backrest heating. → 741719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING PADDING FOR FRONT BACKREST
9. Unclip bracket for electric plug connection for backrest heating -5-  from the seat frame.
10. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -6-  for backrest wire harness (2 connectors). → 721919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BACKREST FRAME
11. Unclip two brackets for electric plug connections for the backrest wire harness -6-  from the seat frame.
12. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -7-  for motor for rear vertical adjustment. → 729219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING MOTOR FOR REAR VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT
13. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -8-  for motor for front vertical adjustment. → 728819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING MOTOR FOR FRONT VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT (SEAT ANGLE)
14. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -9-  for control unit for memory seat adjustment (three connectors). → 729319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CONTROL UNIT FOR MEMORY SEAT ADJUSTMENT
15. Unscrew fastening screw on bracket for control unit for memory seat adjustment and seat-surface extension and remove bracket from the catches on the seat frame. → 740819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT-SURFACE EXTENSION
16. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -10-  for motor for seat fore-and-aft adjustment. → 740819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT-SURFACE EXTENSION
17. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -12-  for seat occupancy detection.
18. Unclip bracket for electric plug connection for seat occupancy detection -12-  from the seat frame.

    Loosening fastening points: 

19. Unclip electric line from the bracket in areas -1-  to -5-  .

20. Unclip electric line from the brackets -6-  and -7-  on the control unit.

21. Remove wiring harness.
