Removal and Installation: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Nissan Titan XD and 2018 Nissan Titan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: To avoid the danger of being scalded, never drain engine oil when engine is hot.
  1. Remove oil pan (lower). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  2. Remove oil strainer.
  3. Remove oil cooler. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove A/T fluid warmer (XD Models only). Refer to Exploded View - Non-XD Models .
  5. Remove drive belt. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  6. Unbolt A/C compressor and reposition. Refer to Exploded View .
    NOTE: It is not required to remove the high-pressure and low-pressure flexible hoses from the A/C compressor.
  7. Remove oil level gauge and oil level gauge guide.
  8. Disconnect oil pressure sensor and oil temperature sensor harness connectors.
  9. Remove rear plate cover.
  10. Remove floor under cover. Refer to Removal and Installation .
  11. Remove front final drive assembly. Refer to Removal and Installation [XD 4WD models only (MA235)] or Removal and Installation [Non-XD 4WD models only (MA210)].
  12. Remove pinch bolt (A) from lower joint and separate lower joint from steering gear (Non-XD Models).

  13. Remove steering gear bolts and position steering gear aside (Non-XD Models). Refer to Exploded View .
  14. Remove bolts fixing oil pan (upper) to transmission assembly. Refer to Exploded View (2WD) or Exploded View (4WD).
  15. Remove oil pan (upper) as per the following:
    1. Loosen bolts in the reverse of the sequence as shown, below.

      NOTE: Disregard No. 9, 16 when loosening.
    2. Insert a suitable tool into the notch at oil pan (upper) (1) as shown, below.

      • Pry off case by moving a suitable tool.

      CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the mating surfaces.
  16. Remove O-rings from bottom of cylinder block and oil pump.
    CAUTION: Do not reuse O-rings.
  17. Remove oil pressure sensor and oil temperature sensor (if necessary).
