Cruise Test - Part 3

VEHICLE SPEED (D4) POSITION
1. Confirm gear selector lever is in D position.
2. Using half-throttle, accelerate vehicle until it shifts into D4.

3. Release accelerator pedal.
4. Move gear selector lever from D position to 3 position while driving in D4.
5. Does A/T shift from D4 to 3?
  Read gear position and vehicle speed.

Yes or No
1. Yes: GO TO 2.
2. No: Go to "17. A/T DOES NOT SHIFT: D4 --> 33, WHEN A/T SELECTOR LEVER D --> 3 ". Continue ROAD TEST.
CHECK ENGINE BRAKE
Does vehicle decelerate by engine brake?

Yes or No
1. Yes: GO TO 3.
2. No: Go to "15. ENGINE SPEED DOES NOT RETURN TO IDLE (LIGHT BRAKING D4 --> D3) ". Continue ROAD TEST.

CHECK SHIFT DOWN (3 ₃ TO 2 ₂ )
1. Move selector lever from 3 to 2 position while driving in 3₃ .
2. Does A/T shift from 3₃ to 2₂ ?
  Read gear position.
Yes or No
1. Yes: GO TO 4.
2. No: Go to "18. A/T DOES NOT SHIFT: 33 --> 22, WHEN SELECTOR LEVER 3 --> 2 POSITION ". Continue ROAD TEST.

CHECK ENGINE BRAKE
Does vehicle decelerate by engine brake?

Yes or No
1. Yes: GO TO 5.
2. No: Go to "15. ENGINE SPEED DOES NOT RETURN TO IDLE (LIGHT BRAKING D4 --> D3) ". Continue ROAD TEST.

CHECK SHIFT DOWN (2 ₂ TO 1 ₁ )
1. Move selector lever from 2 to 1 position while driving in 2₂ .
2. Does A/T shift from 2₂ to 1₁ position?
  Read gear position.
Yes or No
1. Yes: GO TO 6.
2. No: Go to "19. A/T DOES NOT SHIFT: 22 --> 11, WHEN SELECTOR LEVER 2 --> 1 POSITION ". Continue ROAD TEST.

CHECK ENGINE BRAKE
Does vehicle decelerate by engine brake?

Yes or No
1. Yes: GO TO NEXT STEP.
  1. Stop vehicle.
  2. Perform self-diagnosis. Refer to "TCM SELF-DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE (NO TOOLS) ".
2. No: Go to "20. VEHICLE DOES NOT DECELERATE BY ENGINE BRAKE ". Continue ROAD TEST.
