41 35 081 Removing And Installing Front Side Panel On Left

Observe 41 00... BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

• Remove SEAL MOUNTING for engine compartment lid
• Remove SIDE REPEATER
• Remove TRIM PANEL FOR COVER ON SIDE MEMBER
• Remove wheel arch covers. See REMOVING FRONT WHEEL ARCH COVER (FRONT SECTION) and REMOVING WHEEL ARCH COVER (REAR SECTION) .
• Partially loosen BUMPER PANEL on the side

Raise engine compartment lid.

Loosen cowl panel cover (1) from the side wall (arrow).

Feed out sealing (2).

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 41 35 1AZ .

Bend holder (2) approx. 15 mm to the rear.

Installation note:

After installation of the side wall, the holder must be bent back again.

Installation note: 

Pay attention to the correct installation position of the sidewall in the area of the guide (1).

Open door.

Release sealing (1) by about half.

Remove screws and nuts.

Tightening torque 41 35 1AZ .

Tightening torque 41 35 2AZ .

Feed side wall out in the area of the A-pillar, first outward, then toward the back.

Only vehicles with park assistant: 

Repair work in area (1) is not permitted.

Replace side wall.
