51 71 447 Removing and installing or replacing trim panel for cover on left or right side member

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove door sill cover strip. See REMOVING ROCKER PANEL TRIM or REMOVING ILLUMINATED ROCKER PANEL TRIM .

Release expanding rivet (1) and (3).

Release bottom screws (4).

Tightening torque 51 71 4AZ .

Unclip trim panel for cover on side member (2) in marked areas and remove.

Installation note:

Ensure that cover is correctly seated on side member (2) in marked areas.

Installation note:

Retaining lugs (2) of holding strip at front (1) and rear (3) must be neither damaged nor missing.
