51 16 178 Removing and installing (replacing) side clip at center console

Special tools required:

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove CENTER CONSOLE COVER
Remove SIDE TRIM ON CENTER CONSOLE (passenger side).
Remove SIDE TRIM PANEL (CARPET) ON CENTER CONSOLE (passenger side)

Release screws (1) from side clip (2) inside and outside.

Tightening torque 51 16 25AZ .

Slightly raise the rear side clip (2) and slide forward until the side clip (2) detaches from the front top of the hook (3).

Tilt the side clip (1) to the side and release and remove the plug connections (2).

Remove side clip (1).

Replacement

Modify drinks holder/ashtray (2)
