51 16 227 Removing and installing/replacing trim on center console at side left or right

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

NOTE: Cover the armrest in the marked area (1) to protect the armrest from scratches.

Unclip the cover on the side of the center console (2) from back to front and carefully feed it out toward the top.

Installation note: 

Driver's side only: 

Retaining clips (1) must not be missing or damaged.
