51 16 040 Removing and installing/replacing housing on left or right exterior mirror

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove retaining ring on exterior mirror. See 51 16 045 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING RETAINING RING ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR .
Remove protective cap on exterior mirror. See 51 16 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COVER CAP ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR .
Remove mirror adjustment drive. See 67 13 001 REPLACING DRIVE UNIT FOR ELECTRICALLY OPERATED LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR .

Release screws (1).

If necessary, disconnect the connector (3) from the Top View camera.

Installation note:

Ensure latch mechanism (2) is correctly seated.

Carefully loosen screw holes (1) from exterior mirror (2).

Feed out housing (3) downward.

Catches (1) and screw holes (2) on housing (3) must not be damaged.

For replacement with Top View camera version:

Move TOP VIEW CAMERA
