51 16 040 Removing and installing/replacing housing on left or right exterior mirror (with turn indicator)

Necessary preliminary work:
- Remove retaining ring on exterior mirror. See 51 16 045 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING RETAINING RING ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR .
- Remove protective cap on exterior mirror. See 51 16 041 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COVER CAP ON LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR .
- Remove mirror adjustment drive. See 67 13 001 REPLACING DRIVE UNIT FOR ELECTRICALLY OPERATED LEFT OR RIGHT EXTERIOR MIRROR .
Release screws (1).
If necessary, disconnect the connector from the top view camera.
Installation note:
Ensure latch mechanism (2) is correctly seated.
The latch mechanisms (2) on the housing (3) must not be damaged or missing.
Carefully loosen screw holes (1) from exterior mirror (2).
Feed out housing (3) downward.
Installation note:
The bore holes (1) on the housing (3) must not be damaged or missing.
Replacement:
Remove the turn indicator (1) from the housing (2) in the direction of the arrow.
For replacements with top view camera equipment specification:
- Remount the TOP VIEW CAMERA
