51 47 316 Removing and installing/replacing carpet for rear passenger compartment

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Clamp off BATTERY LEAD FROM NEGATIVE CONNECTION POINT
Remove both front seats. See 52 14 001 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT, DRIVER'S SIDE (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) or 52 14 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) .
Remove REAR SEAT
Remove door sill cover strip on left/right. See 51 47 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT (INSIDE) LEFT OR RIGHT ENTRANCE COVER STRIP .
Remove side trim panel on left/right. See 51 43 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE TRIM PANEL .
Remove center console support part. See.51 16 180 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CENTER CONSOLE SUPPORT .
Remove ICM CONTROL UNIT

Release expanding rivets (1) and plastic nut (3).

Remove air duct cover (2).

Release screws (5).

Remove cover of bass speaker (4).

Lay back cable (1) and feed out carpet (2) towards rear/top.

Installation note:

Apertures (1) serve as alignment points when fitting carpet (2).
