51 43 002 Removing and installing rear left or right side trim panel

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove door sill cover strip. See 51 47 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT (INSIDE) LEFT OR RIGHT ENTRANCE COVER STRIP .
Release BACKREST FOR REAR SEAT (do not remove completely)
Move convertible top compartment lid into SERVICE POSITION

Detach rubber seal (1) from side panel shaft in marked area.

Installation note:

Make sure side rubber seal (1) is correctly seated.

Release screw (1) under rubber seal (2).

Unclip lever (1) from soft top linkage.

Push back flap (2).

Unscrew nut (3).

Release screw (2).

Unclip side trim panel (1) at marked points.

Installation note:

Fit all clips (1) with sealing ring.

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1).

IMPORTANT: Different types of clips are used.
Note color coding.
