51 44 011 Removing and installing/replacing roofliner (version with slide/tilt sunroof)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Open front slide/tilt sunroof lid.
• Remove BOTH FRONT SEATS
• Remove CENTER CONSOLE .
• Remove SUN VISORS AND COUNTER SUPPORTS  on left/right
• Remove ROOF SWITCH CLUSTER
• Remove TRIMS FOR ROOF PILLAR AT FRONT  (A-pillar) left/right
• Remove TRIMS FOR DOOR PILLAR AT TOP  (B-pillar) left/right
• Remove TRIMS FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR  (C-pillar) left/right
• Remove TRIMS FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR  (D-pillar) left/right
• Remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim. See LEFT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM  and RIGHT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL .

Release screws (1).

Release screws (1) on left and right.

Remove coat hook (2) and release screw (3).

Release expanding rivets (1).

Version with roller combination (dividing net): 

Fold back cover (1) for dividing net mount (2).

Release screws (3) and remove dividing net mount (2).

Installation: 

Observe position indications on reverse side of dividing net mount (2).

• Pull off muckets of front and rear doors in roof area.

Support roofliner (1) at front.

Unclip roofliner (1) at clips (2) in rear sunroof frame area in downward direction.

Installation: 

If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).

Release screw (1) on D-pillar on right and left. Pull off mucket (2) in roofliner area.

Detach roof liner (1), detach clip (2) on roofliner with fork lever from body roofliner, tilt carefully and feed out forwards through passenger door.

Installation: 

Clips and metal retainers in body roofliner must not be damaged, replace if necessary.

Replacement: 

• Remove left/right MIRROR LIGHT
• Remove left/right CEILING LIGHT

Version with roller combination (dividing net): 

Cut out premarked cutout areas (1) for left/right dividing net mounts with a scalpel.

Installation: 

Installation sequence:

1. Secure roof liner with mucket
2. Secure roofliner at front to clips
3. Snap roofliner at rear into clip
4. Secure expanding rivets to roofliner at front
5. Screw rear roofliner firmly onto D-pillar
6. Screw down sun visors and counter supports
7. Screw down coat hook holder
8. Add final details to vehicle
