51 47 161 Removing and installing/replacing right luggage compartment wheel arch panel

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove RIGHT STORAGE COMPARTMENT 

E70 only: 

• Remove right backrest side section

With E70 (Security, Security-Plus) only: 

• Remove right backrest side section

In E71/72 only: 

• Remove RIGHT C-PILLAR COVER 

Press latch mechanisms (1) together from inside and feed out cover (2).

Disconnect plug connection on charging socket(1).

Release clamps (2).

Feed out luggage compartment wheel arch panel (3) in inwards direction.

E70 Security Plus (SA109) only: 

Disconnect plug connection on charging socket(1).

Release clamps (2).

Feed out luggage compartment wheel arch panel (3) in inwards direction.

Replacement: 

Remove charging socket (1).

Version with storage compartment package: 

Remove multifunction hook (2).

Remove tensioning strap (3).

Saw out openings with an oscillating saw and a straight blade on the molding.

E70 Security Plus (SA109) only: 

Wheel arch panel must also be adapted.

Make cut-outs with a jigsaw and a straight blade as follows:

1. 132 mm
2. 11 mm
3. 37 mm
4. 44 mm
