51 44 013 Removing and installing roofliner (on version with panorama sunroof)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove BOTH SUN VISORS AND COUNTER SUPPORTS
Remove ALL HANDLES
Remove BOTH TRIM PANELS FOR FRONT ROOF PILLAR (A-pillar trim panel)
Remove BOTH TRIM PANELS FOR TOP DOOR PILLAR (B-pillar trim panel)
Remove both trim panels for rear roof pillar (C-pillar trim panel). See REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LEFT OR RIGHT ROOF PILLAR (C-PILLAR, REAR) and REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LEFT OR RIGHT ROOF PILLAR (C-PILLAR, FRONT)
Remove both trim panels for rear roof pillar (D-pillar trim panel). See REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LEFT OR RIGHT ROOF PILLAR (D-PILLAR) or REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TRIM PANEL FOR REAR ROOF PILLAR (D-PILLAR WITH OPTION SA316 FROM 03/2006), LEFT OR RIGHT (AUTOMATIC REAR LID ACTUATION)
Remove FRONT ROOFLINER TRIM
Remove front and rear head restraints. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT HEAD RESTRAINTS (NORMAL/ELECTRIC) and REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT REAR HEAD RESTRAINT
Remove all ceiling lights. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COMPLETE CEILING LIGHT (FRONT) or REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT INTERIOR LIGHT (VERSION WITH PANORAMA GLASS SUNROOF) (SPORTS WAGON)
Remove MODULE FOR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT PROTECTION
Remove both rear speaker covers. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR MID-RANGE SPEAKER (IN REAR SHELF) and REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR TREBLE SPEAKER (IN REAR SHELF)
If necessary, remove all four dividing net mounts (3):

Fold back cover (1) for dividing net mount (3).

Release screw (2) and remove dividing net mount (3).

Installation:

Observe position specifications on reverse side of covers (RR, FR, RL, FL).

Move both front seat backrests as far back as possible.
Removing roller cover from luggage compartment, refer to Owner's handbook.
Fold both rear-seat backrests forward.
Pull off mucket of front and rear doors.

IMPORTANT: The following tasks must be carried out with a second person assisting:
Support headliner at front.

Unclip clips (1) in sunroof frame area towards bottom.

Press roofliner at rear to one side and in so doing slide both guides (1) out of sliding clips in body.

Turn headliner and remove towards rear.

Installation:

Pull sliding clips (1) out of retainers in body roof lining and slide into guides (2) of headliner.

If necessary, replace metal retainers in body roof lining.

Installation:

Clips (1) and guide (2) must not be damaged.

If necessary, replace clips (1) and guide (2).
