51 43 259 Removing and installing/replacing trim panel for rear roof pillar (D-pillar with option SA316 from 03/2006), left or right (automatic rear lid actuation)

NOTE: For cars with build date up to 03/2006 or without automatic rear lid actuation (option SA316), removal is described in:

Remove and installing/replacing TRIM PANEL FOR REAR ROOF PILLAR (D-pillar), left or right

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FLAP IN LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT PANEL
Remove LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT

Lever bump stop (4) and release screw underneath.

Release screws (3).

Installation:

Replace bump stop (4).

Mucket edge (1) in area of trim panel (2) must not be trapped, feed out if necessary.

Raise catch (3) on trim panel (1) and at same time unclip trim panel (1) at top from retainer (2) in inwards direction.

Release trim panel (1) at bottom from clip (4) and remove.

Installation:

If necessary, replace defective clip (2) and retainer (3).

First position trim panel (1) at bottom and clip in clip (2), then position at top on guide (4) and clip in at retainer (3).
