REMOVING Remove
1 Remove respective wheel and tire assembly.   AR40.10-S-1100E
2.1 Remove valve element from valve (43g). Model 447, 448
except code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)

2.2 Remove valve element from tire pressure sensor (1). Model 447, 448
with code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)

3 Remove wheel balance weights (43a). SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 1
WARNING Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing the TIREFIT emulsion. Risk of injury  caused by skin contact and eye contact with the TIREFIT emulsion. Risk of fire  caused by ignition of the TIREFIT emulsion Do not swallow or come into contact with the TIREFIT tire sealant, which is an emulsion of rubber and terpene phenolic resin. No open flames or open light sources. AS40.10-Z-0001-01A
4 Extract tire sealant from respective tire. In tires that were filled with TIREFIT tire sealant. AR40.10-S-1080E
5 Position bead breaker shovel of tire mounting device opposite valve (43g) at tire bead.
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 83 00 Tire mounting device NOTES
Do not position on the tire side wall, but on the bead flank only.
The carcass can otherwise be damaged.
WS40.00-P-0077B
6 Pry off tire on inside and outside over safety bead seat of disk wheel. NOTES
Model 447, 448
with code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)
Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (1).
Otherwise it will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Model 447, 448
with code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)
When prying off tire bead, start on outside of disk wheel opposite tire pressure sensor (1).

7 Clamp disk wheel on tire mounting device.
8 Coat rim flange and tire beads with commercially-available tire mounting paste.
9 Align assembly head at a small distance (X) and distance (Y) to the disc wheel.
10 Position disk wheel at mounting head of tire mounting device. NOTES
Model 447, 448
with code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)
Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (1).
Otherwise it will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Position the disk wheel in the direction of rotation such that the valve (43g) is approx. 10 cm in front of the mounting head.

11 Detach tire. IMPORTANT To do so, pry the tire bead over the assembly lug using an assembly lever.
12 Remove valve (43g). Model 447, 448
except code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)

INSPECT Check
13 Check condition of disk wheel.   AR40.10-P-1010-01A
14 Check tire pressure sensor (1), union nut (2), valve body (3), screw (3a) and shoulder seal (3s) in installed condition. Model 447, 448
with code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)
NOTES
Do not remove tire pressure sensor (1). Do not retighten screw (3a) and union nut (2).
Otherwise, the tire pressure sensor (1) will be damaged.
If tire pressure sensor (1), valve body (3), shoulder seal (3s) are damaged, or if union nut (2) or screw (3a) are loose:

Replace tire pressure sensor (1).
Remove/install tire pressure sensor

INSTALLING Install
15 Install new valve (43g). Model 447, 448
except code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)
IMPORTANT Install a new valve (43g) without valve element.

16 Coat rim flange and tire beads with commercially-available tire mounting paste.
17 Align assembly head at a small distance (X) and distance (Y) to the disc wheel.
18 Place new tire at angle onto disk wheel, and pull on over the rim flange using tire mounting device. NOTES
Model 447, 448
with code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)
Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (1).
Otherwise it will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Observe the running direction on tires with specified running direction. Put as little stress as possible on bead area.

19 Align light spots of tire and disk wheel with each other.
20 Remove disk wheel with tire from tire mounting device.
21 Inflate tire. IMPORTANT Inflate tire without valve element to a maximum of 3 bar. The tire must slide evenly over the safety bead seat of the disk wheel.
If necessary,

Coat the tire beads again with commercially available tire mounting paste.

22.1 Turn new valve element into valve (43g). Model 447, 448
except code RY2 (Tire pressure monitoring at FA and RA, wireless)
