  Risk of fire  due to ignition of R1234yf refrigerant on hot components. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with escaped R1234yf refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts. Risk of explosion  due to formation of ignitable refrigerant/air mixtures Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid R134a refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray.
Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.
Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain coolant and collect in a suitable container.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP20.00-P-2082F
2 Remove refrigerant reservoir.   AR83.30-P-6520GW 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace fluid reservoir each time refrigerant circuit is opened.  
3 Remove nut (1). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut on expansion valve *BA83.30-P-1001-01C 
4 Disconnect pressure lines with retaining plate (2) and seal using suitable stop plugs.    
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Compressor oils (specification 362.1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings and moisten with compressor oil. BB00.40-P-0362-01A
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
5 Release clamp of hot water feed hose (4) and detach hot water feed hose (4) from fitting.    
6 Release clamp of heater return hose (5) and detach heater water return hose (5) from fitting.    
7 Seal exposed hoses and connections using suitable stop plugs. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 1
8 Move driver and front passenger seat as far back as possible.    
9 Remove instrument panel.   AR68.10-P-1000GW
10 Remove bolt (12).    
11 Unclip electric lines and side air ducts from air conditioner housing (3).    
12 Remove air duct toward rear under center console.   AR83.10-P-0020GW 
13 Remove bolts at side on mounting bracket (6) and air ducts.    
14 Expose electrical wiring harness along mounting support (6).    
15 Release and disconnect electric lines from mounting support (6) and release securing strap on air conditioner housing (3). NOTES
Replace red retainer of electrical connector each time it is opened.
The retainer is damaged when the connection is opened.
 
16 Remove bolts (9) and remove mounting support (6). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Ensure that the air duct is correctly seated.  
17 Release and disconnect electric lines (7) from electrical connectors.    
18 Unclip electric lines (7) from air conditioner housing (3).    
19 Release and disconnect electrical connector from blower regulator (A32n1).    
20 Detach drain hoses from connection fitting (8).    
21 Unscrew bolts (11) and place holder (10) with attached lines onto floor in front passenger footwell.    
22 Remove holder from air conditioner housing (3).   AR83.30-P-5200-01GW 
23 Remove securing strap from air conditioner housing (3).    
24 Pull out air conditioner housing (3) together with blower motor (A32m1). NOTES
Carefully remove air conditioner housing (3).
Otherwise components in the vehicle interior may be damaged.
IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.
 
25 Install in the reverse order    
  Normalizing     
26 Normalize actuator motors using vehicle diagnosis system.
