	Remove/install
1	Remove the right front cover on the right cylinder head.		AR01.30-P-5712MNA
2	Unscrew the bolts (3) and remove the vent line (4).	: Replace seal.
		Bolt, vent line to cylinder head cover/turbocharger	*BA01.20-P-1001-01J
3	Remove right high-pressure pump.		AR07.02-P-1024MNA
4	Remove the fuel injectors in the right cylinder line.		AR07.03-P-0004MNA
5	Remove ignition coils of right cylinder bank.		AR15.12-P-2003MNA
6	Remove the side heat shield for the right exhaust gas turbocharger.	Bolt, side heat shield to cylinder head cover	*BA09.40-P-1007-01ZA
7	Remove the vacuum pump.		AR43.05-P-1320LWD
8	Unclip the vacuum line (7) on the right cylinder head cover (1).	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019
9	Unscrew the bolt (8) and remove the ground line (9) on the right cylinder head cover (1).	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019
10	Disconnect the electrical connection for the position sensor for the right exhaust camshaft.	Engine 176 in model 463 up to model year 2019

11	Loosen the bolts (2) for the right cylinder head cover (1) in the reverse order of tightening and unscrew.	Bolt tightening procedure for cylinder head cover	AR01.20-P-5014-03MNA
		Observe tightening procedure. : Replace screw/bolts (2).

12	Carefully pry off the right cylinder head cover (1) from the right cylinder head and remove.

		Do not hammer in a tool to pry off between right cylinder head cover (1) and right cylinder head. The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise. : Replace rear connection piece.

13	Remove position sensors of camshafts.	For replacing the right cylinder head cover (1) and right cylinder head (parts available only in combination).

14	Remove the holder for the upper engine cover on the right cylinder head cover (1).	For replacing the right cylinder head cover (1) and right cylinder head (parts available only in combination).
15	Remove the slide rail on the right cylinder head cover (1).	For replacing the right cylinder head cover (1) and right cylinder head (parts available only in combination).
16	Unscrew the bolt (5) and remove the cover (6).	For replacing the right cylinder head cover (1) and right cylinder head (parts available only in combination). : Replace seal.
	Check
17	Check the camshaft mounts in the right cylinder head cover (1) and camshafts for galling and score marks.
	General information on checking camshafts and bearing points of camshafts		AH05.20-P-1000-09SZ
		If camshaft mounts are damaged, ↓ Replace the right cylinder head cover (1) and right cylinder head (parts available only in combination).

	Clean
18	Clean the sealing surfaces on the right cylinder head and right cylinder head cover (1).		AR01.00-P-0050-01A
		Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper. The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.
		Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray	*BR00.45-Z-1046-04A

19	Check engine oil level and correct if necessary.

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
20	Perform engine test run and check engine in terms of leak tightness while engine is running
