Model 463.276/277 as of model year 2019
Shown on the right side of the vehicle with 6-piston fixed-caliper brake
| Risk of accident when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. | Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. | AS42.50-Z-0002-01A | |
| Risk of injury. Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. | Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. | AS00.00-Z-0002-01A | |
| Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury from skin and eye contact with brake fluid | Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. | AS42.50-Z-0001-01A | |

| Remove | |||
| 1 | Open hood. | AR88.40-P-1000XG | |
| 2 | Clean area surrounding cap of brake fluid expansion reservoir. | Assembly cleaner | *BR00.45-Z-1028-04A |
| 3 | Unscrew cap from brake fluid expansion reservoir and extract some brake fluid. | ||
| 4 | Remove left or right wheel and tire assembly on front axle. | AR40.10-P-1102XG | |
| 5 | Disconnect right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2) from coupling housing (1). | Only when removing the brake caliper (4) on the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 6 | Remove screw (2) from coupling housing (1). | Only when removing the brake caliper (4) on the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 7 | Remove coupling housing (1) together with electric line and place to one side. | Only when removing the brake caliper (4) on the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 8 | Unscrew retaining screw of brake line (8) from brake hose (7) and loosen brake hose (7). | Only when replacing the brake caliper (4). Seal openings on brake hose (7) and on brake line (8) immediately. Otherwise escaping brake fluid causes damage to adjacent component parts. |
|
| Fig 3 | |||
| 9 | Unscrew the bolts (5). | Do not loosen screws (3) or remove from brake caliper support (6). Otherwise, the factory-set alignment of the brake caliper (4) to the brake caliper support (6), and therefore to the brake disc in its installed condition, is no longer correct. |
|
| 10 | Remove brake caliper (4) together with brake pads and brake caliper support (6). | ||
| 11 | Remove brake pads of front axle. | Only when replacing the brake caliper (4) or brake pads. | AR42.10-P-1610XGA |
