| 1 | Pull release lever (1) in driver foot well to release hood (2). | ||
| 2 | Slightly lift hood (2), actuate safety hook (3) and open hood (2). | ||
| Position vertically and secure | |||
| 3 | Release thumb screw (6.1), install support (6) between lock striker (7) and hood catch (8) in suitable length and tighten thumb screw (6.1). | Fig 1 | |
| 4 | Remove safety clips (5) at pneumatic springs (4) at top at bottom on left and right in vehicle using a suitable tool. | ||
| 5 | Pry off pneumatic springs (4) from ball heads and remove. | ||
| 6 | Release thumb screw (6.1) at support (6), bring hood (2) to vertical position (a) and then tighten thumb screw (6.1). | Do not exceed the max. opening angle (a) when positioning the hood (2) vertically. Hood (2), wiper arms (9) and components located in their surroundings will otherwise be damaged. |

| 7 | Release thumb screw (6.1) at support (6), lower hood (2) until pneumatic springs (4) can be installed, then tighten thumb screw (6.1). | Hood (2) will otherwise be damaged. |

| 8 | Attach pneumatic springs (4) at top and bottom to ball heads and install safety clips (5) in pneumatic springs (4). | ||
| 9 | Release thumb screw (6.1), remove support (6) from lock striker (7) and hood catch (8). | Hood (2) will otherwise fall down. |
