| Remove | |||
| 1 | Remove left or right wheel and tire assembly on front axle. | AR40.10-P-1102XG | |
| 2 | Drive out bolt (2) using a suitable tool and remove. | ||
| 3 | Detach brake caliper (4). | AR42.10-P-0070XGA | |
| 4 | Remove break pads (1) together with retaining spring (3). | ||
| 5 | Pull right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2) out of break pad (1). | When replacing the brake pads (1) or when replacing the right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2). | |
| Check and measure | |||
| 6 | Check bolts (2) and retaining spring (3) for damage and condition. | If wear or damage is present. ↓ Replace bolts (2) or retaining spring (3). |

| 7 | Check condition of brake discs and measure degree of wear. | ||
| If damage is present or the wear is outside the tolerance limit, ↓ Replace brake discs. |

| 8 | Check brake caliper (4) with detachable parts for leaktightness and damage. | If a leak or damage is present, ↓ replace corresponding component parts. |

| Clean | |||
| 9 | Clean contact surfaces of break pads (1) on brake caliper (4) and on brake pistons. | While doing so, do not damage the dust boot on the brake piston. Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise replace the brake caliper (4). |

| 10 | Press back brake pistons with pusher tool. | Fig 2 | |
| If the brake pistons are sluggish, ↓ Replace brake caliper (4). |

| 11 | Install right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2) in brake pad (1). | When replacing the brake pads (1) or when replacing the right front brake pad wear sensor (S10/2). | |
| 12 | Insert retaining spring (3) into brake caliper (4). | ||
| 13 | Insert break pads (1) into brake caliper (4) and fix with bolts (2). | Do not apply brake paste or lubricants to the break pads (1) and brake calipers (4). Otherwise malfunctions will occur. |

| 14 | Install brake caliper (4) together with the break pads (1) on front axle. | AR42.10-P-0070XGA | |
| 15 | Drive in bolts (2) up to end stop. | ||
| 16 | Attach left or right wheel and tire assembly to front axle. | AR40.10-P-1102XG | |
| Initial startup | |||
| 17 | Operate brake pedal several times until break pads (1) contact brake discs. | ||
| 18 | Check and correct brake fluid level in expansion reservoir. | ||
