2	Remove hold-down tools (2).
3	Remove camshafts (1). General information on checking camshafts and bearing points of camshafts		AH05.20-P-1000-09SZ
		Do not mount camshafts (1) on the segmented discs. Otherwise, damage to the camshafts (1) will occur.
4	Remove camshaft bearing bridges (7, 8).	Do not use sharp-edged tools. The sealing surfaces can be damaged otherwise.
	Clean
5	Clean sealing surfaces on the camshaft bearing bridges (7, 8).		AR01.00-P-0050-01A
		Do not use sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper. Otherwise, damage to the sealing surfaces and then engine and environmental damage may result. Mechanically processing or cleaning the sealing surfaces, spot grinding with abrasive paper or other abrasive materials to remove seal residue is not permitted. Even the smallest amounts of aluminum oxide particles, grinding particles or wear debris entering the oil reservoir, the bearing points or the combustion chambers will cause damage and thus result in damage to the engine/major assemblies. The sealing surfaces must feel even after treatment. The sealing surfaces need not be metallic bright; thin layers of firmly adhering silicone sealant may remain. Only cleaning with the approved adhesive and sealant remover is permitted. Observe processing information from manufacturer.

11	Position camshaft bearing bridges (7, 8).	Bring camshafts (1) with camshaft bearing bridges (7, 8) into position. Otherwise, damage to the cylinder head and camshafts (1) will occur.
12	Install camshafts (1).
	Specified engine oils for Cars, Vans (service) - Overview		BB00.40-P-0223-02A
		Cams of camshafts (1) must point upwards at an angle after insertion at cylinder 5 so that cams of right and/or left cylinder bank point towards each other. Otherwise, the camshafts (1) will be damaged The positions (arrows) of the camshafts (1 must always point upward. Wet compensating elements and camshaft bearing points with engine oil.
