CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray.
Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant.
Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove front and center lower engine compartment paneling INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Install front and lower center engine compartment lining only after leak test. AR61.20-P-1105LWE
2 Detach oil lines (9, 10) from oil cooler (1)   AR27.10-P-0501-03LF
    SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
3 Seal openings in oil cooler (1) using suitable stop plugs SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 2
4 Pinch off coolant hoses (11, 12) using pinch- off pliers    
5 Remove coolant hoses (11, 12) from oil cooler (1)   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
6 Seal connections of coolant hoses (11, 12) on oil cooler (1) with protective covers SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Fig 1
7 Seal coolant hoses (11, 12) using protective covers SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective caps Fig 1
8 Push retaining clip (8) in upward direction and remove oil cooler (1) NOTES
Carefully push the retaining clip (8) upwards. Otherwise the retaining clip (8) will be damaged.
If retaining clip (8) is damaged

secure oil cooler (1) at position marked by arrow using repair bolt (6) and washer (7).
 
9 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
10 Check fluid level in automatic transmission and adjust to correct level Transmission 725.0 (except 725.007/017/047) in model 213 with engine 274

Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.
Perform engine test run and check oil lines (9, 10) and oil cooler (1) for leak tightness
Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
