WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove cap from expansion reservoir (1)    
2 Check and correct coolant level FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02W 
3 Fit tester cap (2) onto expansion reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 1
4 Connect pressure pump (3) at tester cap (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 2
INSPECT Check     
5 Apply compressed air to low-temperature circuit for 2 minutes at the test pressure NOTES
Do not exceed the specified test pressure.
Otherwise the low-temperature circuit will be damaged.
IMPORTANT There should be no pressure loss within a period of 2 minutes.
 
    Test pressure for pressure-testing the engine cooling system *BE20.30-P-1005-01A 
6 Check condition and coolant loss for all coolant carrying assembly parts and connections In the event of pressure loss.
If a problem arises

Replace corresponding components.
 
INSTALLING Install     
7 Actuate pressure relief button on pressure pump (3) and relieve the pressure SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Fig 2
8 Remove tester cap (2) on expansion reservoir (1) SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 1
9 Check and correct coolant level FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02W 
10 Attach cap to expansion reservoir (1)    
RADIATOR OR EXPANSION RESERVOIR CAP
