Replace Timing Chain - AR05.10-P-7601MRI

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.		 AS18.00-Z-0001-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.		 AS00.00-Z-0017-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove camshafts together with camshaft positioners.   AR05.20-P-6992MRI 
2 Disconnect timing chain (1).   AR05.10-P-7601-01MRH 
    SPECIAL TOOL Rivet press tool Fig 3
INSPECT Check     
3 Check tensioning rail (2) for wear and damage.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 21 00 Endoscope If damage or wear is present:
↓
replace tensioning rail (2).		 WS01.00-P-0097B
      AR05.10-P-8510MRI 
4 Check bottom slide rail (3) for wear and damage.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 21 00 Endoscope If damage or wear is present:
↓
replace bottom slide rail (3).		 WS01.00-P-0097B
      AR05.10-P-8420MRI 
5 Check sprocket of crankshaft for wear and damage.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 21 00 Endoscope If damage or wear is present:
↓
replace sprocket of the crankshaft.		 WS01.00-P-0097B
6 Check top slide rail (4) for wear and damage. If damage or wear is present:
↓
replace top slide rail (4).		 AR05.10-P-8421MRI 
7 Check camshaft positioners for wear and damage. If damage or wear is present:
↓
Replace camshaft positioner.		 AR05.20-P-7204MRI 
INSTALLING Install     
8 Draw in new timing chain (1).   AR05.10-P-7601-04MRH 
    SPECIAL TOOL Assembly element Fig 2
9 Rivet new timing chain (1).   AR05.10-P-7601-02MRH 
    SPECIAL TOOL Rivet press tool Fig 3
10 Install camshafts with camshaft positioners. IMPORTANT Only install cylinder head cover after checking the basic position of the camshafts. AR05.20-P-6992MRI
