CLEAN Clean
19 Clean sealing surfaces of cylinder head (1), timing case cover, and crankcase. NOTES Do not use any sharp-edged tools or abrasive paper.
Sealing surfaces can otherwise be damaged, Engine and environmental damage can as a result occur.
NOTES The machining and/or cleaning of sealing surfaces via spot grinding with abrasive paper or other abrasive materials to remove seal residues are not permitted.
Even the smallest quantities of aluminum oxide, grinding particles and abrasion that enter the Engine oil chamber, the bearing points or the combustion chambers lead to damage and thus to Engine damage.
IMPORTANT The sealing surfaces must feel even after treatment. The sealing surface do not have to be metallic bright, thin layers of firmly adhering silicone sealant can remain.
IMPORTANT Solely cleaning with the approved adhesive and sealant remover is permitted.
IMPORTANT Observe processing information from manufacturer.
