Replace Spark Plugs - AP15.10-P-1580CWF

  Preparatory activity     
1 Open Engine hood and position upright. Engine 274 in model 167, 172, 204, 205, 207, 212, 213, 218, 238, 253  
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Engine 274 in model 204.3, 207, 212
IMPORTANT Engine 274 in model 204.3, 207, 212 with code U60 (Pedestrian protection - Active hood)
Moving the Engine hood to the vertical position: 
Left and right tensioning lever at top must be removed from left and right hinge.		 AR88.40-P-1000EW
REMOVING Remove     
2 Remove ignition coils. Engine 274 in model 167, 172, 204, 205, 207, 212, 213, 218, 238, 253

REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Engine 274 in model 172 AR15.12-P-2003MRE
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR   Engine 274 in model 204, 207 AR15.12-P-2003MR

CLEAN Clean     
3 Use compressed air to blow out any dirt residue in the spark-plug recesses. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL Set of protective covers Fig 1
REMOVING Remove     
4 Unscrew spark plugs (1) using spark plug wrench (01) from cylinder head. SPECIAL TOOL Spark plug wrench Fig 2
INSTALLING Install     
5 Screw new spark plugs (1) using spark plug wrench (01) into cylinder head. TORQUE SPECIFICATION Spark plug to cylinder head *BA15.10-P-1001-01C

INSPECT Check     
6 Check the spark plug connectors (2), ignition coils and ignition lines for damage, deformation and crack formation. If problems are determined,
↓
rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.		  
INSTALLING Install     
7 Apply coating of spark plug connector grease to sealing lips (3) of spark plug connectors (2) before installation. Spark plug connector grease *BR00.45-Z-1102-06A 
8 Install ignition coils. Engine 274 in model 167, 172, 204, 205, 207, 212, 213, 218, 238, 253

9 Close hood. Engine 274 in model 167, 172, 204, 205, 207, 212, 213, 218, 238, 253

Close Engine hood: 
The left and right tensioning lever at the top must be mounted onto the left and right hinge.		 AR88.40-P-1000EW
