	Remove/install
1	Remove right charge-air distributor.	: Only install lower engine compartment lining and upper engine cover after performing a leak test.	AR09.41-P-8685MNL
2	Remove right secondary chain drive timing chain.		AR05.10-P-7614MNL
3	Remove right secondary chain drive tensioning rail.		AR05.10-P-8129MNL
4	Remove right secondary chain drive slide rails		AR05.10-P-8481MNL
5	Remove both camshafts of the right cylinder bank.		AR05.20-P-6994MNL
6	Remove right exhaust manifold.		AR09.40-P-6027MNL
7	Remove center low-pressure line from right cylinder head (1).		AR07.03-P-1121MNL
8	Loosen cylinder head bolts (2) in stages in the reverse order of the tightening procedure and remove.	Tightening specifications for cylinder head bolts	AR01.30-P-5800-07MNA
		Tightening procedure for cylinder head bolts : Observe tightening procedure and tightening specification. : Replace cylinder head bolts (2).	AR01.30-P-5800-01MNA
		Bolt, cylinder head to crankcase	*BA01.30-P-1001-01N
9	Remove right cylinder head (1) from crankcase.
	General information on checking valves, valve seats and valve guides	: Fit a new cylinder head gasket on the crankcase. Pay attention to the pilot bushings for fixing the right cylinder head (1) in place.	AH05.30-P-1000-02SZ
	Clean
10	Cover threaded holes of cylinder head bolts (2) in crankcase with rags and blow out with compressed air and clean off engine oil and coolant.
11	Clean sealing surfaces on right cylinder head (1) and crankcase with a lint-free rag.	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
	Check
12	Check sealing surfaces on right cylinder head (1) and on crankcase for cracks and unevenness.	: A possible distortion of right cylinder head (1) in longitudinal or transverse direction is offset during reassembly by tightening cylinder head bolts (2). Check relevant sealing surfaces of engine for unevenness, score marks, etc. If unevenness, score marks, etc. exist: ↓ Replace affected component.
13	Install in the reverse order.
14	Change engine oil and oil filter element.

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
15	Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
16	Install lower engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105LF
17	Install upper engine cover.
