Check the left timing chain (2)/right timing chain (1) for damage and elongation.

	Remove/install
1	Remove camshaft positioners.	Left camshaft positioner	AR05.20-P-7208MNL
		Right camshaft positioner : Only install upper engine cover and lower engine compartment paneling after the performing a leak test.	AR05.20-P-7209MNL
2	Remove coolant pump.		AR20.10-P-1271MNL
3	Remove the crankcase cover from the crankcase.	The crankcase cover is located in front of the gearwheel (6). : Replace O-ring.
		Screw/bolt, firewall cover to crankcase	*BA01.40-P-1003-01ZA
4	Remove left timing chain (2) from gearwheel (6).	: Make sure left timing chain (2) is seated correctly on gear (6). Engine damage can occur otherwise.
5	Remove right timing chain (1) from gearwheel (5).	: Make sure left timing chain (1) is seated correctly on gear (5). Engine damage can occur otherwise.
6	Remove the left timing chain (2).
7	Remove the right timing chain (1).
8	Check the left timing chain (2)/right timing chain (1) for damage and elongation.	If one timing chain is damaged (stretched), all the timing chains must always be replaced. Engine damage can occur otherwise. If there are problems: ↓ Replace the left timing chain (2), right timing chain (1) and primary timing chain.

9	Install in the reverse order.
10	Check oil level of the engine and correct.

	Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
11	Carry out engine test run and check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
12	Install lower engine compartment lining.		AR61.20-P-1105LF
13	Install upper engine cover.
