	Remove/install
1	Open engine hood and raise to upright position.		AR88.40-P-1000XG
2	Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (at least 2 m).
3	Remove inner nuts (1a), outer nuts (1b) and front nuts (1c).	Tightening sequence: Inner nuts (1a) Outer nuts (1b) Front nuts (1c) Perform tightening sequence in each tightening stage. Nut, suspension strut to frame	*BA32.25-P-1004-04R
4	Remove left or right wheel and tire assembly of front axle.		AR40.10-P-1102XG
5	Remove steering knuckle.		AR33.25-P-0400XG
6	Unclip all electrical lines from bracket (2).
7	Unscrew screws (3) and remove bracket (2).
8	Disconnect electrical connectors (4.1, 4.2) for adjustable damping from suspension strut (5).
9	Remove nut (6) of torsion bar linkage from lower transverse control arm (7).	Nut, torsion bar linkage on front axle to torsion bar/transverse control arm at bottom	*BA32.35-P-1006-01A
10	Remove nut (8).	Bolt, suspension strut to suspension strut step bearing	*BA32.25-P-1005-04R
11	Remove screw (9) and detach lower transverse control arm (7) from suspension strut (5).	Aid of helper required.
12	Remove bolts (10).	Only when removing the suspension strut (5) on the right side of the vehicle. Screw, drive shaft to axle tube (front axle differential)	*BA33.30-P-1002-07E
13	Pry front axle shaft (11) out of front axle differential and remove.	Do not damage the boots and the protective ring of the front axle shaft (11) or the radial shaft sealing ring in the front axle transmission. Replace the defective or damaged components. Aid of helper required.
14	Remove suspension strut (5).	Aid of helper required.
	Check
15	Check condition of suspension strut (5).	If the components are damaged, ↓ replace corresponding component parts.	AR32.25-P-1018XG
16	Install in the reverse order.
17	Perform chassis alignment.	Only when replacing the suspension strut (5).	AR40.20-P-0200XG
