| 1 | Lift the vehicle such that the wheel and tire assemblies on the front axle still have contact with the floor. | AR00.60-P-1006A | |
| 2 | Loosen screw (12). | *BA33.30-P-1001-07E | |
| 3 | Remove brake disk (1) from front axle on left or right. | AR42.10-P-0220XG | |
| 4 | Remove screws (3) and remove brake cover plate (4). | ||
| 5 | Remove left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1) or right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2). | AR42.30-P-0712XG | |
| 6 | Remove screws (5, 6) and detach brackets (7, 8) from steering knuckle (9). | ||
| 7 | Unscrew nut (10) and press tie rod joint (11) off steering knuckle (9). | AR46.40-P-0200-02XG | |

| 8 | Remove screw (12). | ||
| 9 | Unscrew nut-and-washer assembly (13) and detach supporting joint (14) from steering knuckle (9). | Take particular care when using the special tool to release the ball stud! Replace any components hit by incorrectly performed hammer blows. |

| 10 | Unscrew nut-and-washer assembly (15) and detach upper ball joint (16) from steering knuckle (9). | Counterhold ball pin of upper ball joint (16) using a suitable tool and do not use an impact wrench. Otherwise the upper transverse control arm or the steering knuckle (9) will be damaged. |

| 11 | Lower steering knuckle (9), detach from supporting joint (14) and drive shaft and remove. | ||
