Disassemble/Assemble Front Suspension Strut - AR32.25-P-1018XG

	Remove
1	Remove front suspension strut (1).		AR32.25-P-1017XG
	Disassemble
2	Tension tensioning device (13) in a vise and insert clamping plates (11, 12).	Clamping plates	Fig 1

3	Insert front suspension strut (1) with spring (8) into tensioning device (13).	Insert spring (8) between the clamping plates (11, 12) such that as many coils of the spring (8) tension.
4	By turning at the tensioning device (13), tension the spring (8) until the upper spring retainer (4) is relieved.
5	Unscrew nut (2) and counterhold piston rod while doing so.	Socket wrench	Fig 2
6	Remove support bushing (3), upper spring retainer (4) and spring seat (5).
7	Remove stop damper (6) and boot (7).
8	Remove shock absorber (10) and remove lower spring retainer (9).
9	By turning at the tensioning device (13), relax spring (8) and remove from the clamping plates (11, 12).
	Check
10	Check condition of upper spring retainer component parts (4), spring seat (5), stop damper (6), boot (7), spring (8) and lower spring retainer (9) and replace these if necessary.
11	Check shock absorber (10) for damage and oil fouling, and replace if necessary.		AR32.25-P-0121XG
	Assemble
12	Tension spring with tensioning device (13) and clamping plates (11, 12).	Clamping plates	Fig 1

13	Guide in and position shock absorber (10) with lower spring retainer (9).	Ensure that the coil of the spring (8) is correctly seated in the lower spring retainer (9).
14	Install boot (7) and stop damper (6).
15	Install support bushing (3) with upper spring retainer (4) and spring seat (5).	Ensure that the coil of the spring (8) is correctly seated in the upper spring retainer (4).
16	Screw on and tighten nut (2) on piston rod.	Nut, support bushing to shock absorber	*BA32.25-P-1006-04R

17	By turning at the tensioning device (13), relax spring (8) and clamping plates (11, 12).
18	Remove front suspension strut (1) from tensioning device.
19	Remove tensioning device (13) with clamping plates (11, 12).
	Install
20	Install front suspension strut (1).		AR32.25-P-1017XG
