	Remove/install
1	Vent pressure in AIRmatic system using diagnostic system	MODEL 205 with CODE 489 (AIRMATIC)

2	Shift the transmission into position "N" or into idle position
3	Switch off ignition	MODEL 205 with TRANSMISSION 722, 725 Do not remove transmitter key, as otherwise the transmission will be shifted into position "P".
4	Secure vehicle on vehicle lift		AR00.60-P-0100CW
5	Detach rear complete wheels		AR40.10-P-1101A
6	Remove required components of exhaust system	MODEL 205 with ENGINE 651	AR49.10-P-7100LWB
6	Remove required components of exhaust system	MODEL 205 with ENGINE 274.9	AR49.10-P-7100LWA
7	Detach drive shaft from rear axle differential, place to one side and fix in place		AR41.10-P-0050LW
8	Detach electrical connections from level sensors, and place lines to one side	If installed.
	Lower rear axle (1) at rear
9.1	Remove rear axle springs	MODEL 205 without CODE 489 (AIRMATIC)

9.2	Remove air springs	MODEL 205 with CODE 489 (AIRMATIC)

10	Detach rear shock absorbers from spring control arms		AR32.25-P-0110LW
11	Support rear axle (1) using transmission jack and transmission plate	Transmission jack Transmission platform
12	Remove bolts (7) from rear elastomer bearings on frame floor assembly	Do not use an impact wrench. Clean thread in frame floor assembly using compressed air only, and check threaded inserts are correctly seated.
12		Self-locking bolt securing rear decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly	*BA35.10-P-1002-01H
13	Carefully lower rear axle (1) at rear	Make sure that the brake hoses are not tensioned. Otherwise the brake hoses may be damaged. Do not tilt shock absorber in spring control arm.
	Lower rear axle (1) at front
14	Remove the left and right underfloor paneling		AR61.30-P-1001LW
15	Unhook lines (2) at right and left from holders (3)
16	Remove bolts (4) from stop plates (5)	Bolt, stop plate to body	*BA35.10-P-1003-01H
17	Support rear axle (1) using transmission jack and transmission plate	Transmission platform Transmission jack
18	Remove bolts (6) from front elastomer bearings on frame floor assembly and remove stop plates (5)	Do not use an impact wrench. Clean thread in frame floor assembly using compressed air only, and check threaded inserts are correctly seated.
18		Self-locking bolt securing front decoupling element of rear axle carrier to frame floor assembly	*BA35.10-P-1001-01H
19	Carefully lower rear axle (1) at front
20	Install in the reverse order
21	Perform wheel alignment check	When lowering rear axle (1) at front.
