	Remove/install
1	Remove cover over brake fluid expansion reservoir
2	Clean area surrounding the cap of the brake fluid expansion reservoir	Assembly cleaner	*BR00.45-Z-1028-04A
3	Unscrew the cap on the brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid	This prevents the expansion reservoir from overflowing when the brake pistons are pushed back.
4	Move brake lining (10) of rear axle into assembly position		AR42.10-P-1700-02W
		Do not depress the service brake during "Move to assembly position" procedure. Otherwise the spindle in the brake caliper (1) will be damaged. The engine hood must be closed.
5	Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key
6	Remove corresponding complete wheel		AR40.10-P-1101A

8	Remove spring (4) from brake caliper (1)	MODEL 205 without CODE B06 (AMG high-performance braking system) without CODE B07 (Ceramic brake system) without CODE U70 (AMG high-performance composite braking system)
9	Unhook electrical line (5) from bracket (arrow C)
10	Unhook electrical line (6) from bracket (arrow C)	MODEL 205 with CODE 489 (AIRMATIC)
11	Unhook grommet (8) from holder (arrow B)
12	Detach electrical connection (2) from brake wear sensor coupling housing (2.2)	When removing the brake caliper (1) on the right side of the vehicle.
13	Remove bolt (2.1) from brake wear sensor coupling housing (2.2) When removing the brake caliper (1) on the right side of the vehicle.
14	Release and detach electrical connector (7) from left electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/1) or right electric parking brake actuator motor (M76/2)
15.1	Remove bolt (3.1) from brake hose (3) and let brake hose (3) hang down on one side	MODEL 205 without CODE B06 (AMG high-performance braking system) without CODE B07 (Ceramic brake system) without CODE U70 (AMG high-performance composite braking system) Seal the openings on the brake caliper (1) and brake hose (3) immediately. Otherwise adjacent components will be damaged by escaping brake fluid and the brake caliper (1) cannot be bled. The new brake caliper (1) comes in prefilled condition and it must not be drained. Otherwise the brake caliper (1) cannot be vented.

15.2	Unscrew brake hose (3) and hang to one side	MODEL 205 with CODE B06 (AMG high-performance braking system) MODEL 205 with CODE B07 (Ceramic brake system) MODEL 205 with CODE U70 (AMG high-performance composite braking system) Seal the openings on the brake caliper (1) and brake hose (3) immediately. Otherwise adjacent components will be damaged by escaping brake fluid and the brake caliper (1) cannot be bled. The new brake caliper (1) comes in prefilled condition and it must not be drained. Otherwise the brake caliper (1) cannot be vented.

20	Remove bolts of brake caliper support (11) and remove brake caliper support (11)	When replacing the brake caliper support (11).
	Check
21	Check brake caliper (1) and dust boot on brake piston for leaktightness and damage	If there are problems: ↓ Replace brake caliper (1).
22.1	Check guide pin (9) for ease of movement	MODEL 205 without CODE B06 (AMG high-performance braking system) without CODE B07 (Ceramic brake system) without CODE U70 (AMG high-performance composite braking system) If there are problems: ↓ Replace brake caliper (1).
22.2	Check boots and sliding bolts on brake caliper support (11) for damage and ease of movement	MODEL 205 with CODE B06 (AMG high-performance braking system) MODEL 205 with CODE B07 (Ceramic brake system) MODEL 205 with CODE U70 (AMG high-performance composite braking system) If there are problems: ↓ Replace brake caliper support (11).
23	Check brake linings (10) for wear and that they are in good condition

26	Install in the reverse order

28	Depress brake pedal several times until brake linings (10) rest against brake disks (12)	Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.
29	Carry out brake test on the test stand
