  Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Deactivate memory package. Engine 264 in model 253
with code 275 (Memory Package (driver's seat, steering column and mirror))

2 Turn rack-and-pinion steering to center position (front wheels in straight-ahead position) and fix steering wheel in place with holding device. NOTES
Do not turn steering wheel when removing the steering coupling.
Fault on clock spring contact possible.

3 Perform power disconnect of high-voltage onboard electrical system. Engine 274.9 in model 205.047/053/054/147/247/253

4 Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter.    
5 Remove center and rear sections of lower engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105LW
6 Release and disconnect high voltage of the refrigerant compressor. Engine 274.9 in model 205.047/053/054/147/247/253

When removing the front left engine mount (2).
 
7 Unclip high-voltage line from charge air cooler bracket and place to one side. Engine 274.9 in model 205.047/053/054/147/247/253

8 Drain off coolant. Engine 264 in model 205, 253

WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

19 Remove both front engine mounts (2) downwards. IMPORTANT Always replace front engine mounts (2) in pairs.
IMPORTANT Observe environmental protection regulations for disposal of the engine mount (2). Dispose of front engine mount (2) into mixed scrap.
 
20 Install in the reverse order.
