Power tilting/sliding roof (SR), function - GF77.20-P-0001T

Function 

The electric tilting/sliding roof (SR) is a combination of sliding roof and tilting roof. The sliding roof opens toward rear, the tilting roof opens toward front.

The sliding and tilting roofs cannot be opened simultaneously. Operation is by means of the roof switch (N70s1) in the overhead control panel control unit (N70)

Both tilting/sliding roof functions are performed by the SR motor (M12m1). Starting from the open tilting roof, turning the SR motor (M12m1) in one direction causes the tilting roof to close. Continued rotation in the same direction beyond the "tilting/sliding roof closed" position causes the sliding roof to open.

The rotation direction is determined by the polarity of the actuation voltage in the overhead control panel control unit (N70) The roof system switch (N70s1) can be used to deploy the following functions:

• Opening and closing manually
• Opening and closing automatically

The automatic function allows the roof to be adjusted to the last position set (and stored) by briefly activating the switch.

Convenience feature 

The convenience function opens or closes the tilting/sliding roof by actuating the

• "Lock" or "Unlock" button on the transmitter key (A8/1) (infrared signal), the
• Air recirculation switch (N22s2) on the AAC [KLA] control and operating unit (N22) (except code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or the air recirculation switch (N22/7s2) on the comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or
• the buttons in the driver and passenger door handles (only on vehicles with code (889) Keyless Go) (only possible to close the tilting/sliding roof).
