Remove/install power steering pump - AR46.30-P-0500GZ

MODEL 164 (except 164.177)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid Depressurize the hydraulic system completely before starting any work on the system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses. AS00.00-Z-0013-01A
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

4 Extract oil from expansion reservoir of power steering pump (1). SPECIAL TOOL Figure
5 Remove expansion reservoir of power steering pump (1) Engine 113, 272, 273 AR46.25-P-1000GZA 
    Engine 629 AR46.25-P-1000GZC
6 Disconnect hose of expansion reservoir at power steering pump (1) SPECIAL TOOL Fig 3
7 Discharge air conditioning system Engine 629
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Evacuate, refill air conditioning system and check for proper operation and tightness.

11 Remove poly-V belt from power steering pump (1) Engine 113 AR13.22-P-1202GZ
    Engine 272, 273 AR13.20-P-0001GZA
    Engine 642 AR13.20-P-0001GZB
    Engine 629 AR13.22-P-1202GZD
12 Remove front section of fender liner in right front fender Engine 629 AR88.10-P-1300GZ
13 Remove banjo bolt from high-pressure expansion hose connection (6) of power steering pump (1) IMPORTANT Seal openings using stop plugs.
IMPORTANTInstallation:  Replace sealing rings.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 642, 629 *BA46.30-P-1002-01J 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 113, 272, 273 *BA46.30-P-1008-01H

14 Disconnect pressure regulator valve connector (5) from power steering pump (1) Engine 642  
15 Remove bolts (3) and bolt (4) of power steering pump (1) from timing case cover TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 642, 629 *BA46.30-P-1001-01J 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Engine 113, 272, 273 *BA46.30-P-1003-01H 
16 Remove power steering pump (1) IMPORTANT Do not damage the radiator.  
17 Install in the reverse order    
18 Fill and bleed power steering pump (1)   AR46.30-P-0010GZ 
INSPECT Checking     
19 Check the steering system for leaks when the engine is running.
