Remove/install front engine mounts and/or engine support - AR22.10-P-1260GZS (ML 63AMG)

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, tailgates or sliding roof. Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of explosion  caused by oxyhydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  caused by swallowing battery acid. Risk of injury  caused by burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

1 Disconnect ground line from battery NOTES Insulate ground line clamp as a protection against unintentional contact of dismounted ground line with ground point of battery.
IMPORTANT Only when removing engine support (1) with engine mount (7) on the right.

4 Remove air filter housing NOTES Do not tilt front engine cover, but lift upwards vertically otherwise the retaining lugs can break off. AR09.10-P-1150GZS
5 Mount the engine hoist Model 164 AR33.10-P-0100-01GZ

8 Remove right catalytic converter IMPORTANT Only when removing engine support (1) with engine mount (7) on the right.

9 Remove left catalytic converter IMPORTANT Only when removing engine support (1) with engine mount (7) on the left.

10 Screw down nuts (4) and remove shield (3)    
11 Remove bolts (8) from right and left engine mount (7)    
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 164 *BA22.10-P-1001-03G

    SPECIAL TOOL External Torx set Fig 2

12 Raise engine at front lifting eye IMPORTANT Ensure that engine and its detachable components are not lying against the body! Do not over-tension coolant lines and electric cables!  
13 Unscrew bolts (2) on the engine support (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA22.10-P-1001-02A

14 Remove engine support (1) with retaining plate (5) and engine mount (7) downwards IMPORTANTInstallation:  The engine support (1) with retaining plate (5) and engine mount (7) are only installed in a preassembled condition.  
15 Unscrew bolt (6) and remove engine mount (7) from engine bearing bracket (1) IMPORTANT Only if engine support (1) or engine mount (7) is replaced.
IMPORTANT Observe environmental protection regulations for disposal of engine mounts, Dispose engine mounts into mixed scrap.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 164 *BA22.10-P-1002-03G 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 251 *BA22.10-P-1002-03F 
16 Install in the reverse order    
17 Perform basic programming IMPORTANT Only when removing engine support (1) with engine mount (7) on the right.
