Remove/install front engine mounts and/or engine support - AR22.10-P-1260GZA (ML550, GL450, GL550)

	Remove/install
	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	General information	Engine mounts must be always be replaced in pairs.
1	Remove strut tower brace	Model 164.8	AR62.30-P-2500GY
2	Remove air filter housing		AR09.10-P-1150GZA
3	Detach steering coupling from rack-and- pinion steering		AR46.10-P-8000GZ

4	Disconnect ground cable from battery		AR54.10-P-0003GZ
5.1	Remove bottom engine compartment paneling	Except code (430) Offroad package	AR61.20-P-1105GZ

6	Remove cross strut on the left and right on rear engine crossmember	See ↓ Remove/install rear engine cross member	AR22.10-P-1180GZD
7	Remove CAT on the left and right	O2 sensors remain in the catalytic converters	AR49.10-P-7100GZA
8	Remove engine mount (8) bolts (7) using an engine mount wrench	Installation: First screw engine mount (8) onto engine support (6) using bolts (7). The anti-twist lock for engine mount (8) must sit in cutouts on the engine support (6). The heat shield (9) must be correctly positioned on the engine support (6). Then lower engine on the front axle carrier into the mounts foreseen for that purpose.	*BA22.10-P-1001-03G

9	Attach engine hoist	Observe manufacturer's assembly specifications and safety information.
10	Remove engine mount (8) bolts (10) from front axle carrier		*BA22.10-P-1001-03G
11	Raise engine	Pay attention when lifting out engine that no lines are damaged and that engine does not lean against partition wall.
12	Take out engine mount (8)	Both engine mounts downward and to rear
	Right engine support
13	Remove bolt (7) and heat shield (9)
14	Remove bolt (4) and place ground line (5) to one side
15	Remove engine support (6)		*BA22.10-P-1001-02A
	Left engine support
16	Remove bolt (7) and heat shield (9)	Installation: Pay attention to the cutouts for the engine support.
17	Remove engine support (6)		*BA22.10-P-1001-02A
18	Install in the reverse order
