	Remove/install
	Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts	All models	AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1	Open engine hood		AR88.40-P-1000GZ
2	Turn steering wheel to central position (front wheels in straight ahead position) and secure with the retaining device	On a disengaged steering coupling (1) the steering wheel should not be turned because the spiral contact coil will be destroyed.

3.2	Remove air filter housing, left side	Engine 642	AR09.10-P-1150GZB
4	Unclip left engine intake air duct	Engines 156, 642
5	Unscrew bolt (2) from steering coupling (1) to rack-and-pinion steering	Installation:  The bolt (2) must be replaced.

6	Unscrew bolt (3) from steering coupling (1) to steering shaft	Installation:  The bolt (3) must be replaced.

7	Carefully pull steering coupling (1) out of rack-and-pinion steering control valve	Do not use force (blows from a hammer, strong leverage); if necessary, expand the clamping slot slightly using a screwdriver.
		Installation:  Turn rack-and-pinion steering to center position and fit steering coupling (1).	AR46.20-P-0600-01GZ
8	Push steering coupling (1) together (arrow) and pull out of steering shaft	Do not use force as the corrugated tube is sensitive to lateral forces. Enlarge clamping groove a little with a screwdriver if necessary.
9	Install in the reverse order
