1 Checking and preparing for wheel alignment   AR40.20-P-0060AC 
2 Position front wheels of vehicle on turnplates IMPORTANT If using an electronic measuring system with integrated turnplates, the measuring system must be approved by Mercedes-Benz. AR40.20-P-0200-12AC 
3 Insert brake pedal winch on brake pedal MPECIAL TOOL Brake pedal winch Fig 2
4 Open window    
5 Switch off ignition    
6 Fit quick-clamping devices on front and rear wheels   AR40.20-P-0230AC 
7 Attach and calibrate measurement pickups IMPORTANT Refer to measuring system operating instructions.  
8 Determine specified value for caster IMPORTANT Fluctuations in axle load for the various models will cause the caster angle to change depending on the vehicle load relative to the spring travel.
It is not possible to correct the caster angle on the vehicle. The specified caster angle is changed only if the trailing arms are bent or the axle tubes are twisted.

9 Release turnplates

18 Drive vehicle off measuring system    
19 Check straight-line stability and turn-signal cancellation during a test drive
