	Remove/install
	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1.1	Detach lower engine compartment paneling	Model 203	AR61.20-P-1105P

1.2	Remove noise encapsulation	Model 211 with diesel engine	AR94.30-P-5300T
	Checking
2	Check bellows (11) on the left and bellows (11) on the right	Never check the bellows (11) by pressing in or around the raised beads as this leads to damage to the bellows (11) and thus to leaks in the long-term. Perfect sealing of the bellows (11) is indispensable for the function of the rack-and-pinion steering, therefore carry out visual inspection as follows: Raise vehicle at front axle. Stretch the bellows (11) by turning the steering onto left or right wheel lock and in the process check for damage (cracks, chafing marks and intrusions) and replace if necessary.

4	Unscrew lock nut (10f)
5	Detach right exhaust shielding plate (105e)
6	Detach outer clamp (11b)
7	Detach inner clamp (11a)		AR46.40-P-0400-01GH
8	Pull off bellows (11)	Installation: Replace the O-ring on the steering gear housing. Installation of model 203, 211 with boot with diaphragm valve: Push the boot onto the steering gear housing and position.	AR46.40-P-0400-02CW
9	Check steering rack and inner tie rod thrust joint for corrosion and play	If the rack is already corroded and the steering has a leak as a result, it is then necessary to replace the complete rack-and-pinion steering: ↓ Remove/install rack-and-pinion steering: Model 203	AR46.20-P-0600PW
		Model 211, 220	AR46.20-P-0600IW
		If the ball joint is worn, replace the inside track rod: ↓ Remove/install inner tie rod with axial joint.	AR46.40-P-0201PW
10	Install in the reverse order
