MODEL 210 speed-sensitive power steering
The speed-sensitive power steering (SPS) increasingly assists the manual force at the steering wheel from a speed < 100 km/h until the vehicle is stationary. At speeds > 100 km/h the steering effort assistance is as on conventional power steering.
The basic function of speed-sensitive power steering includes the conventional power assistance of the rack-and-pinion steering.
Vehicle speed serves as a parameter which with the aid of electronics adapts the hydraulic reaction via the SPS P-valve (Y10) to the requirement in the speed range of 0-100 km/h.
The electronic control is included in the control module of the respective traction system (ETS, ASR, ESP).
