Dashboard Removal/Installation: Removal

WARNING:
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION .)
  2. Remove the following parts:
    1. Windshield wiper arm and blade (See WINDSHIELD WIPER ARM AND BLADE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    2. Cowl grille (See COWL GRILLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    3. Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    4. Front side trim (See FRONT SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    5. A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    6. Driver-side air bag module (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [STANDARD DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - MEXICO SPEC.] .) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL [TWO-STEP DEPLOYMENT CONTROL SYSTEM - US/CANADA SPEC.] .)
    7. Steering wheel (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    8. Upper column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    9. Lower column cover (See COLUMN COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    10. Lower decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    11. Upper decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    12. Driver-side decoration panel (See DECORATION PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    13. Meter hood No. 1 (See METER HOOD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

    36. Passenger-side lower panel (See LOWER PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)

    38. Wiper and washer switch (See WIPER AND WASHER SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    39. Light switch (See LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    40. Steering wheel and column component (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    41. Rear vent duct No. 2 (With rear vent duct) (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    42. Rear vent duct No. 1 (With rear vent duct) (See REAR VENT DUCT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
    43. Shift lever component (MTX) (See SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R] .)
    44. Selector lever component (ATX) (See SELECTOR LEVER COMPONENT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  3. Remove the wiring harness clips.

  4. Remove the nuts.

  5. Remove rear console bracket No. 3.
  6. Remove the electric parking brake control module. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  7. Remove the electric parking brake control module bracket. (See ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .)
  8. Disconnect the dashboard wiring harness connectors and remove wiring harness clips A and B. (With center display)

  9. Disconnect the dashboard wiring harness connectors and remove wiring harness clips A, B and C. (Without center display)

  10. Remove the bolts.

  11. Remove the nuts.
  12. Remove the dashboard bracket.
  13. To prevent damage to the windshield, apply protective tape to the position shown in the figure.

  14. Remove the bolts.

  15. Remove the caps and the bolts.

  16. Lift the dashboard up in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and remove it from the guide pins on the vehicle body sides, and pull out the dashboard in the direction of arrow (2).

  17. Rotate the dashboard in the direction shown in the figure.

  18. Remove the dashboard from either the driver-side or passenger-side front door opening.
