Removal [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2021 - ] 
  2. CHANGE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM SETTINGS (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [03/2024 - ]
  3. STEERING WHEEL POSITION (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column) 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  4. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
  5. REMOVE HORN BUTTON ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
    NOTE:

    If matchmarks were not placed when removing parts related to steering operation, perform automatic rack centering.

  7. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2024 - ]

    2. for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [03/2024 - ]

  8. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 6 [03/2024 - ]

    2. for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column:

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2021 - 03/2023] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2023 - 03/2024] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [03/2024 - ]

  9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  10. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
  11. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - 03/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [03/2022 - 03/2024] , or refer to REMOVAL [03/2024 - ] 

  12. DISCONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  13. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.
      3. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 clips as shown in the illustration.
      4. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the No. 1 instrument side panel as shown in the illustration.
  14. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction - -
  15. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  16. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 11
  17. REMOVE METER HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Insert the 2 moulding removers as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disengage the 4 clips to remove the meter hood sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
  18. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Disengage the 5 clips to remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disconnect the connector.
  19. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

      *A w/ Panoramic View Monitor System - -
      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Disengage the 5 clips to remove the center instrument panel register assembly as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disconnect each connector and disengage the clamp.
  20. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET 
    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
  21. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY WITH INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25

  22. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 13

  23. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 15

  24. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 clips as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the No. 2 instrument side panel as shown in the illustration.

  28. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  29. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and claw as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
  30. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side.
  31. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and 2 claws as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disengage the 2 guides to remove the No. 2 instrument panel speaker panel sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.
  32. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Use the same procedure as for the LH side and RH side.

      Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  33. REMOVE NO. 1 DEFROSTER NOZZLE GARNISH

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 clips and 3 claws as shown in the illustration.
      2. Disengage the 7 guides to remove the No. 1 defroster nozzle garnish as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disconnect the 2 connectors.
  34. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER OPENING COVER ASSEMBLY

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disengage the guide to remove the No. 1 speaker opening cover assembly as shown in the illustration.
  35. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7

  36. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Headup Display)

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws as shown in the illustration.
      3. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the instrument cluster finish panel assembly as shown in the illustration.
  37. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

      Place Hand Here Remove in this Direction (1)
      Remove in this Direction (2) - -
      1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip as shown in the illustration.
      3. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips to remove the No. 2 instrument panel register assembly as shown in the illustration.
  38. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      *A w/ Telematics Transceiver - -
      1. Remove the bolt <D>.
      2. Disconnect each connector.
      3. Disengage the guide and each clamp.
      4. Disconnect the airbag connector.

        HINT: 

        Refer to How to Connect or Disconnect Airbag Connector.

        Refer to HOW TO CONNECT OR DISCONNECT AIRBAG CONNECTOR [11/2021 - ]

      1. Disengage the 2 claws to disconnect the cooler (room temp. sensor) thermistor.
      2. Remove the 2 clips.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts <A>, 4 bolts <B> and nut <E>.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Disengage the 5 guides and clamp as shown in the illustration to remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
        NOTE:
        • Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
        • Do not allow the wire harnesses to interfere with the surrounding parts.
  39. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Perform this procedure only when replacement of the glove compartment door lock cylinder assembly is necessary.

      Remove in this Direction - -
      1. Move the glove compartment door lever as shown in the illustration.
      2. Using a screwdriver, press the cylinder lock plate to release it and pull out the glove compartment door lock cylinder assembly from the glove compartment door lever to remove it as shown in the illustration.
