Oil Pump: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. W/ engine under cover assembly
  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO.1 
  3. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER NO. 2 
    1. W/ engine under cover No. 2
  4. DRAIN ENGINE OIL (See  REPLACEMENT   ) 
  5. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH 
  6. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM RH (See  FRONT WIPER MOTOR  ) 
  7. REMOVE FR WIPER ARM LH (See  FRONT WIPER MOTOR  ) 
  8. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUBASSEMBLY (See  FRONT WIPER MOTOR  ) 
  9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY (See  FRONT WIPER MOTOR  ) 
  10. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY OUTER (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  11. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH (See  INSPECTION  ) 
  12. REMOVE V (COOLER COMPRESSOR TO CRANKSHAFT PULLEY) BELT NO.1 
    1. Remove the V (cooler compressor to crankshaft pulley) belt No. 1 (See REMOVAL ).
  13. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the generator assembly (See REMOVAL ).
  14. REMOVE VANE PUMP V BELT 
    1. Remove the vane pump V belt (See REMOVAL ).
  15. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD 
    1. Remove the engine moving control rod (See REMOVAL ).
  16. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING STAY NO. 2 RH 
    1. Remove the engine mounting stay No. 2 RH (See REMOVAL ).
  17. REMOVE GENERATOR BRACKET NO. 2 
    1. Remove the generator bracket No. 2 (See REMOVAL ).
  18. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT PULLEY 
    1. Remove the crankshaft pulley (See REMOVAL ).

    SST 09213-54015 (91651-60855), 09330-00021, 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010, 09953-05020, 09954-05031) 

  19. REMOVE TIMING BELT NO. 1 COVER 
  20. REMOVE TIMING BELT NO. 2 COVER 
    1. Remove the timing belt No. 2 cover (See REMOVAL ).
  21. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the engine mounting bracket RH (See REMOVAL ).
  22. REMOVE TIMING BELT GUIDE NO. 2 
    1. Remove the timing belt guide No. 2 (See REMOVAL ).
  23. REMOVE TIMING BELT 
    1. Remove the timing belt (See REMOVAL ).
  24. REMOVE TIMING BELT IDLER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2 
  25. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING PULLEY 
    1. Remove the camshaft timing pulley (See REMOVAL ).

    SST 09960-10010 (09962-01000, 09963-01000), 09249-63010 

  26. REMOVE TIMING BELT NO. 3 COVER 
    1. Remove the timing belt No. 3 cover (See REMOVAL ).
  27. REMOVE TIMING BELT IDLER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 1 (See  INSTALLATION  ) 
  28. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT TIMING PULLEY 
    1. Remove the crankshaft timing pulley (See REMOVAL ).

    SST 09950-50013 (09951-05010, 09952-05010,09953-05020, 09954-05011) 

  29. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY FRONT NO. 3 (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  30. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY FRONT (See  REMOVAL  ) 
  31. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE SUPPORT BRACKET NO. 1 
  32. REMOVE MANIFOLD CONVERTER INSULATOR NO. 3 
  33. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR NO. 2 
  34. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CONVERTER SUBASSEMBLY NO. 2 
    1. Remove the exhaust manifold converter subassembly No. 2 (See REMOVAL ).
  35. REMOVE OIL LEVEL GAGE GUIDE 
    1. Remove the oil level gage guide (See REMOVAL ).
  36. REMOVE GENERATOR BELT ADJUSTING BAR 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, then remove the adjusting bar.

  37. SEPARATE COMPRESSOR AND MAGNETIC CLUTCH 
    1. Remove the bolt and nut, then remove the adjusting bar bracket.
    2. Remove the 3 bolts and the compressor.

    HINT:

    Secure the hoses off to the side instead of detaching.

  38. REMOVE COMPRESSOR MOUNTING BRACKET NO. 1 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the compressor mounting bracket No. 1.

  39. SEPARATE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RR 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and separate the engine mounting insulator RR.

  40. SEPARATE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR FR 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts and separate the engine mounting insulator FR.
    NOTE: Do not remove the engine mounting insulator FR.
  41. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH 
    1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the power steering return hose clamp from the frame.

    2. Remove the 4 nuts.
    3. Place a wooden block on a jack underneath the engine.
    4. Jack-up the engine and remove the engine mounting insulator RH.

    NOTE: Be careful not to damage the oil pan.
  42. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH 
    1. Remove the 4 bolts and nut, then remove the bracket.

  43. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2 
    1. Remove the 10 bolts and 2 nuts.

    2. Insert the blade of SST between oil pan No.1 and oil pan No.2, cut off the sealer and remove the oil pan No.2.

    SST 09032-00100 

    NOTE:
    • Be careful not to damage the contact surface of oil pan No.1 where oil pan No.2 is mounted.
    • Do not damage the flange portion of oil pan No.2 when removing.
  44. REMOVE OIL STRAINER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, and remove the oil strainer and the gasket.

  45. REMOVE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and the flywheel housing under cover.

    2. Loosen and remove the 17 bolts and 2 nuts uniformly.

    3. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pan by prying between the cylinder block and the oil pan.
    NOTE: Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block.
  46. REMOVE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
    2. Remove the bolt and the crankshaft position sensor.

  47. REMOVE OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY 
  1. Remove the 9 bolts.
  2. Using a screwdriver, remove the oil pump by prying between the oil pump and the main bearing cap.
  3. Remove the O-ring.
