Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position the steering knuckle assembly (1a) in the vehicle.
  2. Align the steering knuckle to the front strut and install the strut to knuckle bolts (1b). Tighten the bolts to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Inspect the lower ball joint to verify that the steel ring (1) is still seated properly in the groove of the boot (2).

  4. Install the lower ball joint (3) to the knuckle (4), and tighten the lower control arm to knuckle bolt (1) to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  5. Install the wheel speed sensor to the knuckle. Tighten the wheel speed sensor to knuckle bolt (2) to the proper specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  6. Position the dust shield to the steering knuckle.
  7. Install the dust shield to knuckle bolts and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  8. Install the outer tie rod end to the knuckle. Refer to INSTALLATION, OUTER TIE ROD .
  9. Install the hub and bearing. Refer to HUB AND BEARING, INSTALLATION  .
  10. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  11. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
