Installation Procedure

- Inspect the air conditioning evaporator and blower case drain bellow for cuts, tears or deformation damage to the bellow. If the bellow is damaged, replace the bellow. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator and Blower Case Drain Replacement
- Using a long thin flat blade tool carefully compress the air conditioning evaporator and blower case drain bellow.
- Position the HVAC module assembly (1) into the vehicle and temporarily support it.
- Remove the long thin flat blade tool from in between the HVAC drain bellow and the HVAC module assembly.
- Verify the air conditioning evaporator and blower case drain bellow (1) is aligned with the air conditioning evaporator and blower case drain hole (2).
- From within the engine compartment, install the HVAC module assembly bolt (1) securing the HVAC module assembly to the cowl panel, and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the instrument panel tie bar assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement
- Connect the left side floor rear air outlet duct to the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module assembly. Refer to Floor Rear Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side NOTE:
Do not install the left side front floor console extension panel at this time.
- Connect the right side floor rear air outlet duct to the heater and air conditioning evaporator and blower module assembly. Refer to Floor Rear Air Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side NOTE:
Do not install the right side front floor console extension panel at this time.
- Install the evaporator hose assembly to the thermal expansion valve. Refer to Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement (LCV, LTG) Air Conditioning Evaporator Hose Assembly Replacement (LF4, LGX)
- Install the heater outlet hose to the heater core tube. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LCV) Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LTG with KL9) Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LTG without KL9) Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LGX) Heater Outlet Hose Replacement (LF4)
- Install the heater inlet hose to the heater core tube. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV, LTG) Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LF4) Heater Inlet Hose Replacement (LGX)
- Fill the engine coolant system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static)Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716)
- Recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-134a) Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging (R-1234yf)
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
- Turn the air conditioning on and set to the full cold position. Set the blower speed to Hi. Let the air conditioning system run for 10 minutes with the left and right side carpet pulled back to visually inspect for water leaks, at the air conditioning evaporator and blower case drain bellow connection.
- The air conditioning evaporator and blower case drain bellow (1) should seal against the air conditioning evaporator and blower case assembly (2).
- If a water leak is found, reposition and re-seat the bellow, and re-inspect for a water leak.
- Install the left and right side front floor console extension panels. Refer to Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Left Side , and Front Floor Console Extension Panel Replacement - Right Side
