Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Remove the center air distribution duct assembly. Refer to Air Distributor Center Duct Replacement .
  3. Remove the right and left air distribution ducts. Refer to Air Distributor Duct Replacement - Right Side and Air Distributor Duct Replacement - Left Side .
  4. Remove the right and left side widow defroster outlet duct assemblies. Refer to Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Right Side and Side Window Defogger Outlet Duct Replacement - Left Side .
  5. Remove the windshield defroster nozzle assembly. Refer to Windshield Defroster Nozzle Duct Replacement .
  6. Remove the parking brake lever pedal assembly. Refer to Parking Brake Lever Pedal Assembly Replacement .
  7. If vehicle is equipped with a manual transmission, remove the clutch pedal assembly. Refer to Clutch Pedal Replacement .
  8. Prior to removal of the instrument panel carrier assembly, note the routing of the instrument panel wiring harness and connector locations to ensure proper reinstallation.
1 Instrument Panel Carrier to HVAC Module Screw (Qty: 4)
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  2.5 N.m (22 lb in)

2 Instrument Panel Carrier to Body Bolt (Qty: 6)

Tighten:  25 N.m (19 lb ft)

3 Instrument Panel Carrier to Body Nut (Qty: 8)

Tighten:  25 N.m (19 lb ft)

4 Brake Pedal Bracket to Cowl Nut (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  25 N.m (19 lb ft)

5 Instrument Panel Carrier Assembly

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness from the instrument panel carrier assembly and position out of the way.
  2. When replacing the instrument panel carrier assembly, transfer all necessary components.
